Puppy keeps crying & barking at night (sleeping time adjustment)?

I cant believe you would even consider giving her away just because she whines at night! Hopefully you are crate training her. She needs to be let out of the cage during the day, played with and walked. Then at the same time every night she needs to be locked in her crate. Depending on her age, she should be able to make it all night (if she is over 4 months) If she is younger she needs to go outside to potty every 4 hours. You take her outside and then right back to her crate again. Lock her in the laundry room or bathroom where she wont disturb anyone. Make sure she has toys to keep her busy if she cant sleep. Was she sleeping ok before you messed up her schedule? Just be patient and consistent.

My educated guess (I am NOT a medical professional) is that they'll want to repair the hole. That would involve open heart surgery which is a very major surgery. The good news is its a very established procedure and the doctor who operates on your child will either be very well trained, or under the supervision of one who is. Recovery times are much shorter now, and your son will undoubtedly feel much better after he recovers from the initial surgery trauma. My son had a school friend who had to have a hole repaired in her heart, and she had lots more energy after she recovered from the operation. (It took over a year for full recovery, but she noticed the improved energy within two weeks after the surgery.) It's always scary when a child has to be operated on, but try not to worry too much, this will help him a lot.
