I'm auditioning for "Carmen" in Fame, I need a powerful song. I'm an alto and a belter. Any suggestions?

It's for a college production. I want it to be powerful, but not too cheesy or too slow. All of the songs carmen's sings, I can sing well but I dont want to use one from the show. I was thinking "Take me or leave me" from rent. Please help!
